OMN Fails to Start
Warning for mobile users: Its very tempting to uninstall/reinstall the OMN app if its not behaving properly, but please be warned that in most instances this will remove all of your map downloads. Please see this link for more information: Mobiles - Avoid uninstalling
OMN records that it is starting up, and if OMN does not progress through to displaying the map screen, it will count this as a failed startup.
After two failed startups, on the third attempt, OMN will notify you that it has failed to start twice, and ask if you wish to reset your files. If you opt for yes, OMN will shutdown, and on your next startup, you will be asked for your email/password, and OMN will sync against Anquet Cloud.
There are times when OMN may not progress far enough in the startup process to display notifications and question the user. If this occurs, then after three failed startups, the system will automatically reset without asking the user. The next startup will then require a login.
OMN CLASSIC (2012-early 2017)
Even though our solutions area is for our latest software, quite a lot of OMN Classic users have ended up on this page post Microsoft's latest round of updates.
It would appear that for a number of users, a recent Microsoft update has stopped OMN Classic from starting up. If you have this problem, the resolution is fairly straight forward - please do the following:
Without opening OMN Classic go to C\Documents (Or the location it has been moved to)\ Outdoor Map Navigator and delete this folder. (It does not contain any mapping data.)
Empty the recycle bin and then restart OMN Classic from the icon.
Login when prompted with your user details.
No maps may be showing on restarting so go to Map Manager tap Map Sync and then select a map to view from My Maps.
